Hillside Residence

The architecture of this award-winning San Francisco hillside residence includes a number of features that posed unusual structural challenges, from the absence of view-blocking corner columns to a suspended mezzanine.

To minimize visual obstructions, not only were corner columns eliminated, the window horizontal divider elevations were chosen to keep view lines clear — regardless of whether people are sitting or standing.
