The owners of this oceanfront property on the Big Island of Hawaii wanted to bring the spectacular beauty of the location to the interior of their new Pacific getaway while integrating the structure itself into the natural landscape as seamlessly as possible. The result is a home that takes full advantage of everything the site has to offer.

  • In order to make the ocean and island itself integral to the indoor experience, the architect specified the largest single piece of window glass used in any island residence. Supporting such an immense window required a high-strength frame designed and fabricated as part of the building’s overall steel structure.
