This 60,000-square-foot center — housing a performing arts theater, gymnasium, classrooms, and administrative offices — underwent a major seismic retrofit and related alterations. GFDS designed a steel space frame for the theater’s new state-of-the-art stage house, while reinforcing the auditorium’s existing 50-foot-high steel arched trusses with 35-foot-high moment frames installed in lobby areas.
